Duties: Acts as district advisor for complex chemistry problems arising at former military ranges contaminated with munitions and explosives of concern. Advises/performs sampling, testing & analysis of wastes and environmental samples. Develops & reviews requirements for laboratory Chemical Quality Assurance. Recommends appropriate remedial techniques for waste materials based on the chemistry of the waste and assures compliance with all applicable Federal & State laws/regulations. Reviews toxic & hazardous waste sampling, testing, and analysis data to verify the accuracy/adequacy of the data, to ensure compliance with contract requirements, conformance with accepted procedures, and adherence to all applicable Federal and State laws and regulations to include CERCLA and RCRA. Writes & reviews investigation plans and studies for toxic and hazardous waste to ensure compliance with chemical sampling, testing, and analysis quality assurance standards.
