Title:  Analytical Chemistry for Human Exposure Studies by the Environmental Protection Agency 

The Environmental Protection Agency is interested in routes of human exposure and the resulting health effects associated with environmental contamination.  The role of the Analytical Chemistry Core of the National Health and Environmental Effects Laboratory will be discussed for two studies in particular.  The first is an exposure reconstruction study examining various routes of exposure to pyrethroid insecticides and their metabolites.  The second study involves assessing children's exposure to nicotine through environmental tobacco smoke.
